Miniature Schnauzer archive tees, sweatshirts and hoodies

Ratting was the original brief. German farmers around Frankfurt in the late nineteenth century crossed the Standard Schnauzer down in size, most likely with the Affenpinscher, to make a compact vermin dog for the yard and the stable, and the breed was established in Britain by the 1930s. The furnishings are functional as well as characterful: a harsh wiry jacket, heavy eyebrows, and a beard that collects half of every drink and delivers it to the nearest sofa. The temperament is a farm dog's, alert and vocal about anything arriving on the drive, and firmly of the view that it ought to be included in whatever is happening. For the plate the artist gave the beard and brows most of the line work and left the body coat spare, since the face is where this breed argues its case.
