Siberian Husky archive tees, sweatshirts and hoodies

The Chukchi people of northeastern Siberia bred a light, economical sled dog able to haul loads over long distances on very little food, and the type reached Alaska in the early twentieth century for racing. Teams of these dogs carried diphtheria antitoxin the final stretch into Nome in the winter of 1925, which is where most of the breed's fame comes from. The working traits are intact and largely inconvenient at home: a dog that rarely barks but argues at length in a rising howl, that regards a fence as a problem to be solved, that digs to find cool ground, and that drops its undercoat in sheets. For the plate, the artist worked the coat in layers rather than as one surface, and drew the eyes without softening their directness.
