The Greyhound story

Drawn as an original engraving in its own landscape and printed as a full archive plate. Comes as a tee, a sweatshirt, a hoodie, a print and a pack of cards, from £30.00.
The oldest of the British sighthounds by a distance, drawn on medieval manuscripts and named in the Forest Laws, when owning one was a mark of rank. Coursing on the open downs made the shape: a deep chest, a long neck, a back that flexes like a bow, and a gait that is a series of leaps rather than strides. The racing industry made thousands of them and then retired them at three or four, which is why most Greyhounds in British homes are rehomed dogs, and why the breed's reputation as a couch animal is entirely earned: forty minutes of running and twenty-three hours of sleep. They are gentle, quiet and oddly formal in their manners. The artist put this one on chalk downland with a standing stone, the country the breed was made for, and let the long lines of the dog do the work with very little hatching on the coat.

The Greyhound plate
Every plate in the archive is drawn from scratch as a natural-history engraving, the breed set in the country it was made for rather than floated on a white background. The Greyhound is Archive No. 029. The drawing is printed as a full plate across the back of the garment, nothing on the front, and the same plate is used for the print and the cards.
Garments are made when they are ordered, so nothing is printed until it is wanted and nothing is held in a warehouse. UK orders are printed in the UK and North American orders in the USA, which keeps the parcel on the same side of the ocean as the person waiting for it. If it is not right when it arrives, it can go back within 30 days.
